non-Cisco device telnet\ssh problem.

Hi! Help me solve my problem. We use switches level 2 and 3! Zyxel GS-4012F and Zyxel ES-2024A respectively. SNMP works without problems! but the problem with telnet. Apparently, my switchboard adds some character in the prompt. command prompt changes only in case of change of privilege "#" or ">". 
But in both cases, this character is added 7 http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cirrusproblemdo1.jpg

I'm not familiar with Zyxel devices, so are these characters representing the privilege level? Is there any way to configure the switches to display a different prompt? Or, is it possibly a language support issue?
