I am planning to upgrade my kiwi Cattools software do i have to back up the existing installation before i upgrade it. if yes then how can i do this back up?

The easiest thing to do is take a copy of the current CatTools install folder (and subfolders within) to ensure you have everything, else you could just take a copy of the database file (which has all your devices, activities, etc.).
