Network Monitor Database Maintenance
ciarrocchif
Has anyone come accross the following scenario:
I am running the Solarwinds Engineers Edition Version 8.2 may 2005 on a workstation running windows 2000 with service pack 4.
I have set up all of my locations in the Network Monitor and it has been working fine for the longest time. When I start the Network Monitor my sites I entered come up but, the Network Monitor database maintence comes up and keeps on running automatically even if I hit the cancel box the maitenance windows keeps on coming back.
I have tried unistalling the software and re-installing it using the same cfg file I created and get the same maintenance window come back up.
I I have tried deleting the cfg and when I start the Network Monitor once again the maintence window pops back up.

What size is the Network-Monitor.cfg file currently? Can you try opening it with MS Access 2000 or newer? If you can open it I highly recommend running a compact & repair on it just to see if this is the issue. The database may be slightly corrupt, however I cannot confirm this. Please let us know and you can also contact me at Support@SolarWinds.Net

The file size is only 344kb in size.

Go ahead and try opening it in Access, then run a Compact and repair on it just incase it is corrupt. If this doesn't resolve your issue, please backup the files listed in the following knowledge base article:
support.solarwinds.net/.../ProblemDetail.cfm
Then, please uninstall and reinstall the software using Add/Remove Programs as a local Administrator on the machine; then reboot the machine. Once the install is finished, just place the files back in the correct location and see if you still experience the issue.
