Scheduled autodiscovery in Orion

Question

Apart from running the autodiscovery wizard is there any way to set up Orion to auto-discover nodes?

I know that this was a toppic last year but the last reaction was last year. Is there a update?.
Is this a feature that is available in Orion or one of its components.
Are their other solutions (e.g. HP SIM in combination with Solarwinds) for getting this kind of information.

I would be interested.

SolarWinds LANsurveyor does do autodiscovery.  You can then take those devices that are discovered and add them to Orion manually.  We will be automating this process in a future release.

Orion still does not have an auto-discovery capability. The possibility of things running amuck and a service like that importing nodes is a concern. If you only have an SL2000 flavor of Orion and an auto-discovery imports enough elements to max your license it could be quite a surprise. There are products like LANsurveyor that auto-discover and auto-update maps of the network.
