Hello,
We have a two poller environment and have recently migrated the main poller over to a new server, the new server has a different name and IP address.
General polling is fine, network traffic analysis is fine but all SAM monitoring gathered by the primary poller is constantly alternating between an Up/Unknown status. For nodes polled by the secondary poller SAM monitors are consistantly up. Moving a node over to the secondary poller will result in SAM monitored services to become stable.
Looking on a Application Details Summary you'll see a pattern like so and when unknown an error such as the following will be displayed.
Unexpected error occurred. Cannot retrieve data from '172.16.252.4' at namespace 'root\cimv2' with query 'select Name,Caption,State,ProcessId from Win32_Service
The intermittent nature of the problem is making testing hard.
The new primary poller/application server is now running on a Windows 2025 platform whereas previously it had been Windows 2019. It is also not hosted on a cluster, whereas before it had been hosted on a solitary host. So sadly a few new variables have come into play.
Support ticket is open with Solarwinds but was wondering of there were any answers from within the Thwack Community.
