In this response, “administrator” and “standard user” refer specifically to Windows user account permission levels on the computer where Kiwi CatTools is installed.

Kiwi CatTools 3.12.7 requires a Windows account with local administrator privileges for interactive use through CatTools Manager. As a result, a Windows standard user may see the Evaluation version rather than the licensed installation.

For environments where users cannot have Windows local administrator rights, the recommended approach is to run CatTools in Windows Service Mode. This supports unattended and scheduled activities without requiring users to log on interactively. The service should be installed and configured by a Windows account with the necessary local administrator privileges.

If interactive management is required, access should be provided through an organization-approved controlled Windows administrator account or PAM/jump-server solution. License activation or reactivation should also be performed using SolarWinds License Manager with Windows local administrator rights.

Based on the available support guidance, there is no confirmed post-installation permission change that enables full interactive CatTools 3.12.7 functionality for Windows standard users.
