Getting zero entries for NCM.EntityPhysical and NCM.ArpTables, but not for NCM.Nodes

While querying for NCM tables via REST API, we are getting 0 entries for NCM.EntityPhysical and NCM.ArpTables table, but getting > 0 entries for NCM.Nodes table via REST API.

Node inventory settings has "Arp" as well as "Entity MIB" enabled.

What could be the reason for not getting any data for those 2 tables ? How can it be fixed ? Is there any configuration missing ?

There will be some out-of-the-box NCM jobs configured. I can't recall if the Network Inventory job is enabled by default but it will need to run if you want the inventory data - it will populate the tables like NCM.EntityPhysical, etc. Or you can select all the devices in Configuration Management and click the Update Inventory button.

Isn't this automatically run whenever nodes are added to NCM? I have an eval self-hosted instance and don't recollect doing this step manually. Thanks.

Solarwinds is configured / controlled by one of our customer. We are using the REST API to get data from it.

For us, EntityPhysical table is more important (compared to ARP table).

I need to check with the customer about - 'Update inventory' / scheduling a job part and get back.

They do have some routers. So, I would expect some data from ARP table.

We asked the customer about running the same query via SWQL studio already. Hoping to get that information from them.

Have you done an inventory job on those nodes so it will populate those tables? You can do it by going to "Config Management", selecting the nodes, and going to "Update Inventory". Although you'd be better off going to "NCM" / "Jobs" and schedule a job to update periodically if it isn't already there.

Are the nodes of the type to have ARP tables? ie: routers or something similar? Otherwise they either won't be there, or will be mostly empty.

Do the queries you use via the REST API work ok in SWQL Studio?
