Node Custom Poller Alert Definition for MEM alert- need critical and Warning in percentage

Question

We have successfully created and assigned the new OIDs for the Palo Alto devices, and the values are being polled correctly in SolarWinds.

We are currently working on the Node Custom Poller Memory Alert Definition. However, the polled OIDs are returning raw values, and we need to configure the alert based on memory utilization percentage with both Warning and Critical thresholds.

Could you please share the recommended percentage thresholds for alert definition or trigger condition

* Warning Alert (%)
* Critical Alert (%)

This will help us configure the alerts accurately for the Palo Alto devices.

Warning: ≥ 80%, Critical: ≥ 90%

I'm no expert, but a quick online search says that above 90% configuration memory, or 60-80% linux memory usage.   And when CPU usage stays above 80% during normal hours, or hits 100% spikes a lot.

Personally?  I'd probably stick with the defaults at first, which are 80/90 for warning/critical, and adjust upward if they are hit often enough and not causing an issue.   Depends on your environment…
