Repair after Windows update

After every Windows update, SolarWinds stops working for us and we have to run the Configuration Wizard to get things running again.

Does anyone else have this issue?

SolarWinds Platform, NCM, NPM: 2026.1.1

Three Windows Server 2019;

Orion core
Additional Polling Engine
Web front end

Plus a shared SQL Server on a 4th server. (Updating this never causes issues.)

We can't be the only one.

Interesting. We never had to repair until after we rebuilt in 2021 🙃

Of course, prior to 2021, we only ran two servers; Orion Core and a separate database.

Now we have 4 servers; Core, Additional Polling,

We almost always have to at least restart some services on some of the polling engines, sometimes the main engine. It used to be much worse a few years ago before we completely rebuild our instance.

MS updates pushed, servers supposed to reboot.
Next morning, I find some services stopped on random servers in our Solarwinds instance.
Remediation varies, but lately just restarting services on the server seem to correct it.

Yes, we used to have to run ConfigWiz most of the time after updates, but that stopped when we rebuilt from scratch in 2021. Reboot order suggested by @naveensingh43 is what we did if service restarts were not enough. Although, we didn't need to reboot the SQL server in our case.

We experienced the same issue. However, after performing a manual reboot and following the recommended reboot sequence, the issue was resolved. We haven't encountered it again since then.

Try to reboot it manually.Ensure the reboot order is correct:
SQL Server
Main Poller
Additional Polling Engines
Web Server

Yes. Servers are rebooted afterwards.

Even if we upgrade 1 server, reboot, wait until it's up. Then do the next, same process. Then the third. It's always the same. GUI is available until we run a repair.
