Clarification Required on "Last Status Change" Value in Interface Details

Hi Dear Community members,

I came across an observation regarding the Interface Details page and would appreciate your clarification.For one of the interfaces, the current interface status is showing as "Up"; however, the "Last Status Change" date is displayed as 07 July 2026, which is approximately 8 days ago.Could you please help clarify the meaning of the "Last Status Change" field?Specifically, I would like to understand:

* Does this field indicate the last time the interface status changed between Up and Down?
* Is it related to interface flapping or any status transition event?
* If the interface has remained continuously Up since 07 July 2026, would the date remain unchanged until the next status change occurs?

Any insights on the logic behind this field would be greatly appreciated. Attaching screen clipping for reference .

Hi @shuth ,

Thank you for the clarification. As I understand it, the Last Status Change field indicates the most recent status transition of the interface.

Therefore, if an interface went Down and subsequently returned to Up, remaining in the Up state for the past 24 hours, the Last Status Change timestamp should show the time when the interface changed back to Up (approximately 24 hours ago).

Kindly let me know if my interpretation is correct.

I believe SolarWinds uses two OIDs to calculate this value.

ifLastChange (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.9) - this is a sysUptime value for when the interfaces operating status last changed (according to the device).

SysUptime (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3): the amount of time in hundredths of seconds that the system has been up

The Last Status Change time is the difference between those two values.  (SysUptime - ifLastChange = laststatuschange). The time should stay the same until the interface next changes status.
