I would love to see the Network Insight functionality of NPM support Fortinet.
I now have 28 Fortinets of different makes and now that Solarwinds no longer backs FSM I would love to see Net Insight for Fortinets and Check Points.
We use a lot of Fortinets in our environment as well and I have found that they are not very well supported by most 3rd party applications. With that being said it looks like we may be moving more towards PaloAlto.
Understood. Are you running a homogenous environment? We aren't and it kills me that SW gave up on FSM. It bottomed out my "Single Pane of Glass" platform.
Yes and no; it evolves over time. You can look at our environment and see the different stages of evolution. From a networking perspective (note that I am not on our networking team but do work closely with them) we originally were a Cisco/HP shop, then we evolved to a Fortinet/Arista shop, we had a short stent with Juniper but now it looks like the next evolution will lean heavily on PaloAlto. So, we try to be but when we evolve we don't immediately replace everything from our previous iteration. If any of that makes sense.
We also use lots of Fortinet firewalls, they are great value for money and easy to configure.

Man, I found Fortinets to be confusing and difficult to configure, glad I no longer work there! Didn't integrate well with any 3rd party tools, they want you to use the Fortimanager and such.
Yup, cnorborg that has been my experience with Fortinet as well. It seems to me the have been intentionally designed to not play well with others so they can try and push you to use only their ecosystem of products.
