I would like to request sampled flow support Juniper MX, M and J series.
Case #478093
We don't have any of these series but is it really different from SRX series? I mean I assume they both use sflow, Am I right? Nonetheless they are JUNOS in the end.
the configuration is the same with Juniper Networks - Example working J-Flow configuration [Relevant to J-Series and SRX devices] - Knowledge Base
Can SRX support sampled flow now?
Hi nicole
I use sample netflow/jflow on juniper MX I just don't use the NTA to do that.
The OS running on the MX and SRX is the same like the confing.
That line in the config say that the SRX/J router support sampling is
#show forwarding-options
sampling {
input {
rate 100;
}
I will first try it with 1:1000 just to be safe.
rate 1000;
/SJA
Hi SJA,
I use the sample rate 100 commands you mantion on Juniper MX. My problem is the real traffic around 107Mbps but only 1Mbps displayed on NTA.
Ohh OK
So it's the NTA doesn't get the raio...
If that the problem isn't efect Cisco as well ?
Cisco uses NetFlow, which we just supported the sampling rate in NTA last release. jFlow on Juniper devices, when being sampled shows an incorrect value in NTA when compared to NPM. You all have already noticed that. We are looking at supporting this in the future. Stay tuned...The "What we are working on" post for NTA will likely be updated this week.
