Our organization is currently running the following:

We have recently deployed 22 of the following Cisco model:

C8200L-1N-4T

Solarwinds is not reading the Machine Type correctly, but rather simply paints "Cisco"..

We opened Case #: 01453438 - Solarwinds not reading Cisco router model > the outcome of which was to determine within the database that the

specific router model is not supported. It is not contained within the table entitled "SWISysObjects" as we queried but came back with zero results. The owner of the case Andrew Kharchenko recommended we submit this feature request.

As a workaround. Machine Type is something that can be controlled via a device poller. If the default OID we poll for machine type does not contain the relevant information you can create a poller and point it to a different OID that does. Create pollers in Device Studio for NPM (solarwinds.com)

Voted - Cisco 8000 series routers are the new standard for ISRs. 2900 series went EoL in 2022. 4000 series are EoL in 2027

Numerous of our newer Cisco devices are not recognized by the Solarwinds platform, the C8200L-1N-4T being one of them. Seems Solarwinds has given up on keeping up-to-date with newer Cisco hardware.
