I would like to be able to use custom pollers with PerfMon. I do not believe it is currently possible.
Hi there,
Could you please elaborate the issue and perhaps provide a use case thanks.
Aloha,
Many of the nodes that I monitor are radios. Some of the data that I monitor is the RSL 'receive signal levels', (RSSI) receive signal strength indicator', and (SNR) 'signal to noise' ratio. I couple of different things that I would like to do are compare levels of both radios on a point to point link, compare all downlink levels in a point to multi-point configuration, and compare uplink levels in a point to multipoint configuration.
By PerfMon do you mean Network Performance Monitor or are you perhaps referring to Performance Analysys (PerfStack)?
In NPM (Network Performance Monitor), you can create custom pollers that can pull the information you seek (RSSI, SNR etc) by using the Universal Device Poller, and have them display in a "Multiple Universal Device Poller Chart" resource. This will allow you to compare the signal strengths accross nodes. In Performance Analysis (PerfStack), it is currently not possible to add custom pollers as entities for analysis.
If you mean PerfMon as in the Microsoft Windows abbreviation for Performance Monitor, then you'll need to provide more details. Are your radios running with Windows embedded? Is that why you wish to monitor PerfMon in Windows in order to collect RSSI and SNR values?
