I am fairly new to solarwinds. I am trying to create an alert for of my 4g connected devices. Can some one help provide advice or help on creating an alert after about 15 minutes of packet loss?
Hi,
there is already a default alert for packet loss which you could duplicate and modify to your needs. Go to your "Manage Alerts" page and search for the "High packet loss" alert. Duplicate and edit it.
On the trigger condition page choose the objects you want the alert to be triggered on and adjust the threshhold of % packet loss to your needs. Tick the Checkbox "Condidtion must be present vor X" and type in your timeframe.
Keep in mind that this default alert has also a reset condition, which resets the alert after packet loss drops below 5%. So if you set your trigger condition between 0 and 5%, also modify the reset condition or set it to reset if trigger condition is no longer met.
