Hi
It would be better if the group in CatTools will appear as folders in Explorer, which you can open and minimize them.
This is useful when we set up a lot of devices
Alexey
Hi Alexey,
I'm not quite sure I understand the request. Could you expand on the problem you have for me please (maybe add a screen-shot of the screen in question)?
Thanks,
Steve
I think Alexey means to use a tree structure to show the groups. Alternatively a long long time ago I suggested that CatTools simply remembers the collapse/expanded state of groups and has a "collapse/expand all" option to make selecting devices easier.
Of course what I REALLY wanted was a check box against the group heading so you can select a group of devices. I know you have implemented "select all" but that's of limited use: selecting a group would make cattools really easy to manage!
Thanks for the further explanation. So we are talking about the 'Devices' tab on the 'Edit scheduled activity details' form.
You can actually select just a group of devices using a combination of the the 'Filter (F3)' button and then (once you have specified your filter) use the 'Select All' button which selects all the devices currently displayed in the list above.
I agree though that it is not as 'user friendly' as the option you suggested though David... although it does provide greater functionality.
I guess what you are looking for is the ability to run an activity based on a group (therefore if you add new devices to that group, they get automatically included in the activity)? Does that sound right?
I haven't tested the new feature with a filter on,nut as I understand it the "select all" includes any new devices added later. If you do that with a filter on, would it remember the filter so for example if I set a filter for all devices in group ABC on one report, selected all devices and after repeat this for reports on the groups DEF and GHI. A month later I add a new device in group ABC, wouldthat be included in the first report automatically?
Alexey,
Does the ability to 'run an activity at group level' sound like the feature you were looking for too?
Regards,
