Availability Report - extending sample interval

Hi,

In web based Report Writer, the maximum sample interval in custom chart resource is 7 days. (for availability report)

It would be useful to have the option to get a monthly availability point for the year.

What do you think about this ?

Have you considered adding the Availability resource itself to the report instead of using the custom chart resource? That should provide you the ability to define longer periods of time in the chart.

I tested with the ressources "Percent Availability" and "Availability and response time" but I have the same sample interval

Create a report and add the availability resource. Then click "Edit Chart"

Edit the setting to reflect the time range you wish to report upon

Click "Submit" and view the result. The chart below is for a year but this application has only been monitored for a few months. That is why there is no chart data from Nov'13 - Jul'14

Yes, I have the same result with the resource "Percent Availability".

But for me this chart is difficult to analyze

In the end of september this node was down, we cannot see clearly when.. (in pdf format)

I think it would be better to have an average for each month (one column per month)

This would make the chart much more explicit and visuel

You think is a bad idea?
