Currently it's not possible to amend the SELECT query in any way, it is fixed. It would be beneficial to be able to amend this for advanced alerting and reporting.

You mean alerts created in the "Manage Alerts" area? Can you send me a screenshot so I know what you mean?

ahh got it - didn't even know this was an option... I've done a lot of cutomisation of our alerts and wrote a little widet to show which ones are being hit...Can't think what I'd use a custom SQWL query for - what is a typical use?Sorry - not really giving you answers, but questions lol.
This use case would be for a custom alert where you need to pull some specific detail from the database, and where one of the out of the box alerts won't already work. In the same way as you'd use a custom query widget in the web console.
