Exception in Service Timer

Question

We have started getting the following Application Error on our Hot Standby Engine.

Event Source: NetPerfMonService
Event Category: Severe
Event ID: 1
Date:  10/3/2007
Time:  10:07:34 PM

Computer: SERVERNAME

Exception in Service Timer Tick - 0

Right after the error, we receive an email stating a failover has occured and then another within a minute or two stating the failover has reset.  What makes this more interesting is the date/time in the email alert is always the same (see below).

Fail-Over notice: 11/29/2006 10:02:16 AM

Polling Engine 'servername' has stopped.

The Hot-Standby Server 'servername' has taken over for it.

Any ideas???

Thanks.  I am currently running 9.5.1 and tried re-installing as well as a number of other things.  I found this KB which resolved my issue:

support.solarwinds.com/.../ProblemDetail.cfm

There was a single node in the "Nodes" table that was set to DHCP and had a blank IP address.  I'm a little frustrated that that would cause my polling engine to quit working completely but now I know for the future I guess.

After we upgraded to version 9.5, the error message went away.

Did this ever get resolved for you?  I'm having the same issue.  I have a support ticket in but I haven't heard back from them yet.
