Separate Thresholds for Errors and Discards

Question

Is it possible to configure separate thresholds for errors and discards.  Or at the very least have Orion check for actual dropped packets not just discard eligible.  Its not uncommon to see thousands of packets marked DE as we exceed our CIR but as long as they are not dropped it should not matter.

If you're referring to the web page thresholds, I don't know of an easy way to do that. Furthermore, Orion uses SNMP to collect the info related to transmit and receive discards, so if your router interprets and reports via SNMP that a  packet marked with the DE bit set as being a TX discard, then there may be no way around that. Are you equating a high number of TX discards as being related to the DE bit being set? Could it be that the interface buffers are being overrun? This will show up as TX discards as well.... ~ Vic
