How to fix System Information field not updating without removing and re-adding node

This issue is specifically for the System Information section having incorrect information populated (ss below) not the Node Details or Custom Properties settings, those sections all have correct info. Nothing will allow the field to update to the correct name. I have tried re-polling, re-discovering, switching back and forth from agent to polling. The only way to fix the incorrect name in that field is the remove and re-add the node which is time consuming as all custom property fields then need to be manually entered again. Any suggestion appreciated.

Additionally, it seems like it is a link text issue perhaps as when you select the incorrect name from this section it just scrolls up to the top of the current page, not the another node.

Is the Server Node enabled to provide the Asset Inventory Server information?

If the Server Node has got the is enabled...

Would disabling it for a Poll (or 3), and then reenabling it start to populate the System Information Resource shown in the screen shot?

I wonder why you are editing this sys info? I've had similar happen when i've re-ip'd servers and the devices that come in to use the IP addresses of the old devices took ages to update the Sys info.

So it could just be a device timing polling issue.

They used to say in the old days go and have a cup of tea and wait a few hours and the problem will have resolved after a few polls.

The quick way is to delete and re-add. That isn't fun when you have lots of custom properties as you say.

There are about 60 nodes in our environment that somehow have this specific field corrupted with a seemingly random hostname from another server in our environment. Trying to find a way to not have to remove/readd because of all the custom properties fields

*EDIT* This actually worked great, unchecking asset inventory, submit, go back in and re-enable it, poll-now, after about 15-30minutes the correct information populated. Thanks a million!

I tried disabling Asset Inventory and then re-enabling it to no avail. I turned it off again and will take another look tomorrow to see if data is still being collected. After some more research I think the issue might be related to the assets being VM's and we do not have VMAN or API's for VMware. I spoke with the main guy who initially set up SW and he will be going on vacation tomorrow so we decided not to mess with the schemas.

Essentially we are going to test whether the Asset Inventory resource is even needed and just turn that off on VM's if not so it wont display that info. Somehow the database is not able to be updated with the correct name.
