Rediscovery
FormerMember
I'm new to Cirrus (still using a 30 day eval copy)
I'm working on grouping the nodes, and one of the columns I'm sorting on is "Next Discovery"
How can my "Next Discovery" date and time be in the past ?
I've got several devices whose Next Discovery is 8/30/06 3:23 PM but today is 8/31/06
Any insight ?
Also, Is there any way to force a rediscovery now ? I know how to force an inventory or a config download, but I haven't seen how to force a rediscovery.
Any help on this one ?
Thanks,
Doug

I found the answer while on the phone with Solarwinds' tech support
Since I have Cirrus on the same server as our Orion system, I decided to turn off monitoring. I didn't realize that would also turn of rediscovery.
I turned on Monitoring, and everything was rediscovered.

Yeah, slightly annoying cause we really don't need 2 products pinging the same devices. What we did was crank up the node polling interval to the max of ~9 hours cause we really don't care if Cirrus can see the devices every 10 mins or not, that's Orion's job..
