What are the current .NET requirements / recommendations for Orion etc.?

We are having trouble with SWIS and RabbitMQ at minimum.

@hythlodaeus, have you taken a look at Multi-Module System Guidelines? From the output you have provided it looks like you should be referencing the 5 module config in the table.

Have no idea what that means. Right as I got involved four months ago, we were performing a full redeployment working closely with Solarwinds support sales etc directly following all of their recommendations and exceeding them. In my now dozens of hours on support calls with Solarwinds and various management I don't remember this ever being mentioned. I'll check it out I guess.

I believe we met or exceeded all of this. I set up every server except the SQL box and the AWS. But I never paid any special attention to .NET versions and no one ever mentioned it. Thus, my question since other threads here at Thwack mention that it might affect SWIS, slowdowns, timeouts etc.

@hythlodaeus, the article I sent you and the link you provided are the same article (my link just takes you to the table that I was referring to in my response). That article outlines all the requirements to include the .NET version (which is installed as part of the bundle if not present on the server at the time of Orion installation) and the SQL requirements, as well as how to interpret what they deem as small, medium, large, and X-large.

So 4.8 OR LATER is the correct .Net version? According to the doc "The SolarWinds Orion installer installs IIS and .NET 4.8 or later if they are not already on your server." Very little mention otherwise.

@hythlodaeus, if you click the hyperlink that is on the term .NET 4.8 that is in the article and then subsequently what you pasted you'll see that it takes you to another KB article that outlines that for Orion platform version 2019.2, 1029.4, and 2020.2 the required .NET version is 4.8 and that the Orion Installer will install it for you if you don't already have it installed because it is a requirement.
