Interface IP addresses on routers in DB

Question

If I create a custom property in the Interfaces table, how could I populate it with the IP address from the interface on the router?  SNMP?  How would I tie it in???

Hi Larry,

As far as I know there is no automated way to pull this off.  You would have to manually enter the IP address for each interface in the custom property.

Now if you had an SNMP walker that could grab this for you you may be able to find a way to inject the value directly into the Orion database based on the IP address of the node in Orion.  In other words do a SQL link via the node to the associated interface and then inject the IP addresses based on the interface index.

This sounds fairly complex to me.  Because I am lazy and not particularly bright I am not going to try this.  However, if you go through the trouble and get it to work please let me know.  That would be a nifty enhancement.
