Can some one tell me how difficult it is to migrate the Orion Perf Mon Web? We currently run it on the same server as Orion and would like to migrate it to a VM created as a seperate web server.
The Orion website is included with the initial polling engine. If you want to split out the website to another server there is a separate webserver engine you can purchase.

I actually do not want to split out the web, we want to run the web on a seperate server to lesson the burden on the main poller box. I would think you could put the web on it's own server if you so wished.
Have you considered a remote DB to lessen the burden? The web cannot be separated from the main poller.
If you are wanting to just publish maps remotely>?
otherwise you would need to configure the Orion Web Only Interface

The DB is on a seperate server, you mean you can not run the web on a sperate server??? That's crazy. Why would it not allow you to put the web on a different server?
We've been called worse than crazy, but part of the way that Orion maintains its mix of usability, flexibility, and relatively low cost is that we lock in certain configurations. Allowing the web server to be installed separately adds complexity in Dev, Test, and Support. Not a huge amount, but it's more. What you're asking for is not something that comes up much.
FWIW, our internal testing shows that the web server does not impose a huge hit on performance. As Stephen suggested above, you can run an additional web server and point most users to that one. But you still have the web server on the core Orion.
Ha ha I am sure. I have actually found out that I have the additional web server component (I have just recently taken over all monitoring from a vetran that set it all up) Although it doesn't take a huge hit on performance, our thought is evry little bit helps, my idea at this point is to let all users point to additional web server and use the core one just for myself to view monitoring servers view
As far as setting up the additional web, has anyone done this? I just want to know if when I install it, I want to be sure that the web on main poller remains active, I wnat to run the additional one in test mode for a couple of weeks. Anyone know if there are any issues to doing this?
The additional web installation will not interfere with the web site on the polling server.
