I have about 600 devices being polled in Solarwinds and currently only about 10 % devices are being inventoried. Need to find out what am I missing to have the rest of the devices to be inventoried.
Have you selected Asset Inventor for each of those devices?
From within an asset in the Management box - select List Resources - it will take a few seconds to discover all the details and options. Make sure you have Asset Inventory selected on each item.
Thank you for the quick reply, I tried looking into it and not able to see Asset Inventory option.
That resource is showing whether your NCM nodes are being inventoried or not and is not directly related to asset inventory on nodes. Do you have a scheduled NCM inventory job configured. You can go to Configs --> Jobs to check. If there is one scheduled, I would make sure it is configured to inventory all nodes. Finally, from that same jobs page, you can click on the job history to see if some nodes are failing.
Also, if an inventory job is not currently scheduled, there is an example out of the box job called "Nightly Network Inventory" that you can use or duplicate.
Many network devices will not report asset inventory.
