Unable to Login!!

Hi i'm fairly new to this, but i think i'm beginning to see a pattern in other threads, but any advice gratefully received.

I am evaluating this product, to roll out to a number of our supported clients, not all have a full Cisco estate. One product i am trying to work with, should work fine as it's config is in clear text. The issue revolves around the telnet credential's. They are correct and work from a Telnet session, but when i verify the login credentials, i see Cirrus, successfully logging in, then waiting. Eventually the "bad password" message is displayed. I think i know the problem, the telnet login banner once authenticated is just a $ (It can't be changed either), I think this is similar to the Cisco # issue. Is it possible to change Cirrus to look for the $ or ignore it?.

This sounds very similar, except the device i am working with presents a $ instead of a > (Sorry said # previously). As i said, we are unable to reconfigure the banner to something other than $.

...right, this workaround should work - Since you cannot clear out the banner I'll ask around for more suggestions.

I have this exact problem with an older router (Cabletron SSR-600). After logging on its prompt sits at "*" and Cirrus is unable to continue. Once you enter the configuration area you are presented a "Config>" prompt. The running config area uses a "+" prompt.

I'll be glad when we finally get rid of this model, but until then it would be nice to have Cirrus capture some of the config.

Will Solarwinds be looking to transfer configs Via Http or HTTPs at anytime? A lot of kit has a web front end and this could be a solution to devices which can't be accessed via telnet or SSH?
