Any update on the request for Alerts and Advanced Alerts in Netflow for Orion?
I have not heard of any but any updates will be posted here first -
We plan to put NetFlow alerts into a future version. What are some of the alerts you'd like to see?
I still want this, I still need this. What is the update on this issue.
Thanks
It's not in the next release, but it's still on the roadmap.
Has any progress been made on this requested feature?
I am looking for an alert based on Total Bandwidth in the last 24 hours/Today.
I can do this already with reports, I just need to do it using Alerts so that I can trigger an action.
Alerting is on the roadmap but not date committed today. These use cases are very helpful though in defining the functionallity and getting it assigned to a release.

Thanks mcbridea,
Is there another way around this? Hooking into the database directly maybe?
If you have Orion APM, you can actually use APM's HTTP user experience monitor to look for certain information on a page of Orion (e.g., is YouTube present) and alert on that.
You can also periodically run SQL Queries on the Orion DB to check for specific info and then use that to alert.
So if you buy a Rolls Royce, you can actually sit inside it and turn on the radio to find out if it's raining outside.
Hmmm...

Bruce,
I understand that the suggestion won't solve your problem if you don't already own APM. However, for those readers of this thread who do own APM, it is a solution until we are ablto add native alerting to NTA.
I would love to be able to set an alert when traffic on youtube exceeds a certain amount; are we any closer to this alert capability between NPM and NTA?
Just out of interest how do you define youtube traffic? Have you setup an IP group for it or some other method? (as far as I'm aware it doesn't show up in the domain list)
We have added alerts to NTA, but not ones that cover these last specific use cases. It's something we're definitely interested in, but right now performance is still our number 1 priority.
Regarding youtube traffic, as I'm sure you know, it's a bit tricky. Unfortunately the IP addresses do not resolve to the youtube.com domain and creating IP Address Groups is probably not a practical solution. There are ways to determine traffic is destined for youtube, but those methods aren't available in NTA today. If someone in the community has something working, we'd love to hear it.
