This graphic is still displaying "Sample Graph" and has never dispalyed any useful information since the upgrade to 5.0 Current version is with SP2.
Are any members getting better data? If so what did you do?
Thanks
Oh good, so I'm not the only one this is happening to. My graph is still displaying "Sample Graph" too. Anxious to find out if this is working for anyone.
Yep...mine doesn't dispaly anything useful either. It doesn't say "Sample Graph", but its just solid blue. I've got backups of all my device configs. I opened a ticket yesterday for this issue along with several other problems I'm having. Haven't heard anything back yet. I've already upgraded to SP2.
Thanks, Mark. My config backups do run weekly and were set to only download configs that had changed. I changed that yesterday and re-downloaded all my configs again. I also adjusted the granularity to Monthly. Now the graph is only shoiwng October and its completely blank.
Couple rules of thumb for this particular chart:
1) Set granularity to map up to your download schedule (e.g. weekly downloads, set granularity to weekly)
2) Ensure that you have at least 2 data points for your chosen granularity. Otherwise, you won't see an area graph.
Is your backup time frame set to a weekly? If so, change the granularity to something bigger than a week to see data. There is a check box "Only save if configs changed", if this setting is checked in your download config job, NCM won't count that as a backup. This is a bug that is scheduled to resolved in 5.1.
Nightly backups and inventories, this I have vaildated via the scheduled job logs. However, I only retain changed backups.

The collection times and charts are set to daily. With the nightly schedule jobs there have been at least 20 jobs performed. Plus a few manual runs testing system functions.
We now have 7 nightly backups completed. The web graphic still displays "Sample".
Ok, there's something else going on then. Can you please check to see if the Orion NCM Polling Service is running?
The other NCM graphics are updating. This is hte only one not updating.
Is there a way to remove this default graphic for everyone else so that I stop getting "is that dmmm thing fixed yet? With the codicile that I can get it manually. I do this sort of QA testing in Orion with a specialized Menu bar.
You can just remove the resource from the view. Go to Personalization in the upper right hand of your screen and delete the resource.
My request was for:
According to the NCM 5.
Personalizing the Web ConsoleYou can select the resource you want to display on a particular view. To do so, click Personalize on the view you want to customize. You can then check the resources to include, drag-and-drop them from one column to another, or dragand-drop them in a different order in the same column. Changes are saved as preferences associated with the logged on user account.

I suspect that I will only be hiding the problem with the application from myself following this recommendation. We need a method for the admins to control the front end (comparable to NPM).
That is correct. Currently, you'd have to either log in as each user and change this on their behalf or you'd have to have the users do this themselves.
