I spent quite a considerable time looking at SonicWall firewalls a while back but at the time it was not possible to support them because the only way to get the config from them was via ZModem. Unless they have changed the way they operate we would still not be able to support them. However, if you are away of a way of generating a backup via the CLI then I would be greatly interested to know.

I believe this can now be done with SonicOS 5.X. There is now an "export preferences ftp" option that will allow you to export the config to an FTP server inside the LAN. You can also do a multitude of "show" commands to rebuild the config.
I have done a sonicwall SSH session if anyone from Kiwi development team would like to see.

I am trying to do the same. I cant seem to get it to work. Any help wouldbe great. I am working on a 4100 PRO. with enhaced os 5.x installed. I tried export preferences ftp but got a error saying extra syntax after command. Please help. Thank you.

I have finally figure out to make this work using Cat Tools custom scripts. I have a device script and two activity scripts (backup and show tech support Report)
If you would like them to review and maybe add to the product..email me and I can send them to you.

I am also very interested in getting SonicWalls backed up with Kiwi Cat Tools.
I have downloaded the scripts and added SonicWall devices to KCP, but I keep getting an error when I run tests.
Client Script error: Object doesn't support this property or method: cl.Initialise on line: 83
The devices are using SonicOS 5 and have SSH managment enabled.
These Scripts are only compatible with Kiwi Cat Tools 3.
They do not work with Kiwi Cat Tools 2, no matter how long you debug them.

The custom scripting in CatTools v2 is not quite the same as the custom scripting in CatTools v3.
There have been many changes to internal functions (names and operations) to support the revised activity naming convention which was implemented in CatTools v3.2.0.
