Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with a Cisco backbone router that isn't allowing all resources to be listed, so we can add new interfaces to the device for monitoring. Is/has anyone else had this same issue?
Do the resources appear in an SNMPwalk?
Yes they do.

Would you please provide the model of the router and the software version?
When you test SNMP credentials, does that succeed?
What if you do a sonar discovery against the device...does that workaround work?
Yes, it passes SNMP testing.
the discovery failed and says to check the logs. I did a list resources and still not showing all the resources associated with this device.
Do you have multiple pollers? If so do you have issues with other devices of a similar nature? Also I would check to make sure you have the same version across all the pollers. You could always try running a config wizard as a first step to try to restore any issues. Also make sure you polling is not over limits.
we have multiple pollers and I have tried this device on 3 different pollers. We are not having any issues with other devices on these other pollers.
Ok next step I would think is are you using snmp v3 and if so do you have the context specified for that data? Also what is the exact device type or model for this node?
SNMPv2
So this is a Cisco SR or ASR? Do you have the machine type value from the node details? Not the IOS software info?
Ok, so we’re looking at a line card chassis. That’s a first for me, but no matter. Let me do some checking into SNMP on that platform.

Sounds to me you may have a restrictive SNMP view set against the SNMP credential you are using. You mind sharing the SNMP config you are using (you can obviously block out any private information before submitting it)? I've noticed that a lot of the sample SNMP configs for Cisco devices have a SNMP view that limits the credential to block some OID's that Orion uses for monitoring. Since most people will google to get the correct config they will use these samples and thus have the view applied. It may just be a matter of adjusting/removing the view applied to that credential.
SNMP Config? Are you talking the SNMP Walk?
No, the SNMP configurations on the Cisco device.
I don't have access to that. Although the person who wanted the interfaces added to the device verified
Bbr01gnvlsc SNMP and SNMP ACL config both match the other backbone routers exactly.
