"If you have a teamed NIC setup on those servers, you must first break the NIC team prior upgrading or uninstalling Neverfail Heartbeat. Failure to break the NIC team prior to upgrading or uninstalling Neverfail Heartbeat will result in a hung state."
"When you uninstall FoE, be sure to change the hostnames and IP addresses of the secondary/passive server in each pair to prevent conflicts on your network. Also, make sure to stop SolarWinds services on the secondary/passive server in each pair so that you do not end up with two machines trying to update the NPM database at once."I couldn't understand these statement can anybody explain these for me? i'll be thankful.
If you have any trouble uninstalling FoE this article might help.

SolarWinds Orion Failover Engine Packet Filter Driver and Neverfail packet filter driver are the same thing or not???
To my knowledge yes, since the FoE of Orion is based on the Neverfail Engine.
I am not 100% sure but very confident that indeed those 2 are the same.
Is this possible that after removing FOE secondary server remain at standby and in case of failure we manually make secondary active? Is there any such senario without FOE??
On first thought I would say No, that is not possible. You would need to have some sort of "Availability-Software" in the middle...like Failover Engine.
Why do you need to uninstall FoE? Is the product not working for you?
Licence has been expired and i am not going to renew it due to some reasons. Is this possible that we manually update the standby server along with the primary server and at the time of filure we assign the primary's IP to the standby server and it starts working as primary server???
What Modules for Orion are you using. If this is only NPM I guess it might be working. Please refer to this document then:
http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orion/docs/OrionServerMigration.pdf
But be aware that just changing the IP address etc is not enough. You have to do more things.
Also: you can't have 2 Servers running with the same License. License is bound to the Machine
I just want to remaove the FOE. Also i want that my secondary server work as standby server and we manually update it and in case of failure of primary (active) server we make the standby server active manually by assigning ip address of primary to it?? Is this possible?
To put it in simple Words: You Can't accomplish this very easily. There are too many things you would have to be aware of and think about when your main server fails.
Also when you have a Server "running" in standby you would need to have a separate license for this Server.
If you do not do so, you need to request a license reset by Support for the failover server to run again with your Main License
I personally think it is not worth the troubles. Put your Orion Machine on a vmware Cluster if you do not want to use FoE. Keep the Database on physical Hardware
Can you please mention some of things that i would have to be aware of????
Just to let you know. I will be out of Office until June 23rd. I will answer when I return.
