Advanced Alert for server reboot

Hi there,

I think i am being a little thick on this one, but i can't seem to configure an alert to email me when a server reboots. There is the one out of the box (which sends an alert to the log) when i add an email action and try to save, it tells me to specify a trigger action?

When i look in the trigger actions, there is nothing specified (although it does show in the NPM log)

When trying to set it up from scratch - i select 'type of property to monitor' Node:

Choose trigger alert when all of the following is met:

add a simple condition, click on the * and the only options i have are:

Network Nodes > Current CPU & Memory > memory availble and % memory availble

then polling details > Skipped polling cylces & (Now - Last Sync) in minutes

So not really sure where to locate the reboot monitor.

Any help would be great!

To add to this: if i select volume in the 'type of property to monitor' i get the right options under network nodes (including last boot) but the email doesnt work!

This should work. Aslo make sure you give Orion enough time to poll for the reboot. It will happen on the next polling cycle.

Even simpler...

Mine just uses a trigger condition of:
Last Boot has changed

Sorry for the late reply, been busy!

appreciate the replies guys, but the problem i have is that under Node i dont have the 'last boot' option

The 'Last boot' option is under the first-level menu title "Select from this list to assign the 'has changed' condition"

Just out of interest, what version are you using? I am on "AlertManager Version 2011.1.0". I wonder if you are on an older version that didn't support this type of check?
