Is it possible to configure the email notification for a config download job to only report on the devices that failed?
TIA,
Brian
AFAIK this is not possible, but I would really like to have this feature as well.
Markku
I'll third that... Actually, that would be nice if a few of the canned jobs would only output the failed parts. Maybe even show the failed first, then a condensed list of the successful nodes after that. Having a multiple page list to scroll down through to find the errored nodes is a real PITA. :) Just a thought. I smell a feature enhancement.
Thanks for the comments. If you had to prioritize, would you say an email notification that only shows failed downloads is most important or a UI screen that only showed failed nodes?
For us it would be the email notification.
Email for sure. Reports would be a good second. I dont know about a UI screen/window, would need to see what it looks like first I guess.
Something else important I want to bring up would be the layout for the reports. The current output is very bulky and dry at best. Something like this format would be great...
JOB Title report information/details/results
Nodes In Error:
Node A ( IP Address) - error reason -----Node D ( IP Address) - error reason -----Node Z ( IP Address) - error reason
*********** Successful Modification Node list ***********
Node B ( IP Address) Node C ( IP Address) Node E ( IP Address) Node F ( IP Address) ..... etc
** END OF JOB REPORT **
Not to format it for you, just to exemplfy the approriate need/use of whitespace and readability. My 2 cents.
For those interested in this feature, would you prefer HTML or plain text for these email notifications?
Plain text to make it easier to read on my BB.
Hmmm... I smell and option choice to be added into the report.
I could use either. I would love that to be a selectable option in the report itself or a global selection in Cirrus.
Email would be fine (NOC here as well), plain text format is enough for us, I guess we can live with HTML as well...
Just chipping in to support email + plain text. Can't wait for this feature...
