Can you please let me know if there is a option to increase # of scripts running on a recorder server?
Thanks
David
Hi David,
Can you elaborate on your question please, or explain what you're looking to do. To create increase the number of scripts running, you can increase the interval or create more scripts.
Thanks,
Sorry for confusion.
There a configuration option that limits the # of Play Back recordings to be execute on a single robot /VM server.
I thought this was a licensing limit rather than something configuration based?
mcam is correct, the number of active transactions you can have on a given poller is limited by licensing. However, if you do have the SLX license you are limited by the hardware you have installed. Recommendations on a basic config with a 2GHZ (quadcore) proc and 3GB of ram allows you to have 50 transactions lasting 30 seconds over a 5 minute interval.
Here are the licensing limits (the value following wpm is the limit on amount of transactions allowed on your installation.)
To look up license info navigate to the admin page, and select the 'Licensing' option under email, your license will be under WPM.
WPM 5
WPM 10
WPM 20
WPM 50
WPM 100
WPM 200
Did not see WPM ####
See under license details
That means you have the slx version, there's no limit to the amount of transactions you can have. Are you seeing error messages anywhere saying that you have a limit ? It could be that you have an old license installed on your server causing issues with an eval license or license with a limit on transaction numbers.
If you navigate to your transaction locations, do you have any of your servers sitting at over 100%? You can find this under Settings > WPM Settings > Manage Player Locations.

Just do not understand why having 4 monitors is causing a player load of 30 %. Seems high?
The weight of the job is determined by how lengthy/ complicated your script is, and the frequency of the polls. In my test environment I have 1 poller sitting at 135% with 5 transactions, and another poller at 70% with 5 transactions. My boxes have 32gb of ram with 12 cores at 2.6ghz. Scripts on my test env are configured to run every 5 minutes.
What is your recommendation as my firm wants me to over off Microsoft SCOM…..My scripts are also configured to 5 minutes polls.
How many VMs do I need?
I have over 250 Web sites (approximately 300 transactions)
How much granularity does your organization require, would it be possible to increase the polling intervals? I think that spinning up a vm with multiple low powered hosts could give you what you need. Solarwinds recommends a quad core proc at 2ghz with 3gb of ram to monitor up to 50 transactions that last 30 seconds over 5 minute intervals.
How many steps are your transactions, and how long do they last ? I've not looked into tapping into whatever limits how much resources the app can use, I will see if I can find that value to allow the app to use more resources for WPM.
