Is there a rough timeframe when SNMPv3 will be fully supported in ipMonitor?
We expect to add SNMPv3 support in 1H09, but as always, priorities and timeframes can change based on demand from our customer base. If there are others with SNMP v3 support requirements, please chime in!
Yes, we absolutely have to have SNMPv3 support in my organization. We're keeping WhatsUp Gold around just because it supports SNMPv3.
What about SNMPv2 support for traps? When would this be implemented? In a few months it will be a year since I keep asking this question.
Thanks!
One year later..... anoyone know where is this at?
It is still on my list of items we need to knock out. I would assume monitoring via v3 is a higher priority vs. v3 traps?
Brandon - good assumption from where I stand. We have no need for V3 traps, only support for V3 GETs.
Any ballpark estimate for release timeframe?
Nothing I can comfortably commit to at this point in time, but it is something we are looking at
I would also like to chime in on requesting SNMPv3 support. Our company is beginning to work on PCI compliance, and from what I've been told it's required to use v3 if using SNMP. I also agree that v3 GETs is a priority over traps. Thanks.
We use Orion (with APM), but also utilise an instance of ipMonitor (currently purchasing a second ipMonitor licence).
These Networks now are also coming under increased data security attention, where snmpv3 is very much required.
Can I please add my voice to the call for snmpv3 get support.
Dave.
Thanks, Christine, and welcome to the thwack community.
