Is it possible to create a package to push Office 07 via Eware?
As long the installation is a single EXE, MSI, or MSP and can be installed completely silent, then yes.
Ok, well let us know here how that works. I am also looking at an Office 2007 workstation installation via Eminentware.
Office 07 is not a single exe, msi or msp.
Hi Oscar,
although not directly supported until the next version, you can have multiple files when creating a package in the current version.
If requires some manual copying of files to the eminentware server in the packages\<office_package_id> directory.
This will package the contents of the entire folder.
To create a silent install for Office 2007, have a look at this link...

Edit: sounds great David. I hope to be using this as well one of these days.
It is completely possible.
Please see the post before this.
Also, if you want you, you can create a self extracting exe with all the necessary files (if you need more customization.)
I like the Chilkat Self-Extracting creator personally.
Once again, quite possible.
Oscar - did you ever succeed with this. I am trying to do it now and looking for the best way of doing it.
I can see that by putting in the relevant config string pointing to the config.xml file (and then using procmon.exe to check) it successfully calls the file but doesn't run.
If anyone did get this working either with chilkat or without I would be grateful to see a step by step guide.
We support multiple files in a package, so compressing the contents into a single self extracting EXE is not required.
IOW, Chilkat is not required to do this.
Yes, you can distribute Office 2007 using this technique.
Yes, we have had customers successfully create their own Office 2007 package using the EW package editor and distributed to their clients.
You need to copy all the files for the Office 2007 install into a directory on the EW console and then in the additional files button, select that directory.
It will automatically create entries for all those files as additional files and will be included in the package you create.
