Hi
If I'm not wrong the plan of ipMonitor v9 launching is today. But until this time I couldn't find the link to download it in my SolarWinds support portal. I mean even though I have already login to http://support.solarwinds.com/support/default.cfm, I can not find this version on "Downloads & Upgrades" section. I'm an existing customers of SoalrWinds ipMonitor product. Is there any change of schedule ?
Regards,
Fauzan
You can login? I get a script error (doesnt like the '.' in the email login name) when I try to login to the solarwinds support portal. The original support site is there, but the download links take you to the new support site, which give me a script error as below. I filed a support ticket a couple hours ago for it, but have not heard back. Release days are always exciting.
ODBC Error Code = 22001 (String data right truncation)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]String or binary data would be truncated.
The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFQUERY), occupying document position (22:3) to (22:61).

Doug-
Thanks for the heads up. You should be able to login now. Please try again-
No, still can't login...error below. if i take the ".net" off the end of my login id...it gives invalid username or password (duh) but does not error.

I would like to help you out here- What did you do step by step - or maybe post the case number if you have already relayed this information in the ticket- This is the first release where there was a crossover with portals so I'm trying to determine what the root cause is here, thanks.
I am case #30010. They 'sorta' fixed my problem. They gave me a new login, nice and easy to remember, sorta like AS8D89234123AK28, know what I mean? At least its easier to remember than my old user id which was my email that I only use every day. great! (that is all sarcasm in case it was missed). Anyways, to produce the original error, all i did was enter my email for the uid as i always have, then my password in the support site. ie: sombody@somwhere.com and a password. this produced the errors. Now my next problem is the new improved easier to remember id that they gave me logs me in, but the download link for ipmonitor v9 is linked to ipm8setup.zip. I am trying to download it to see if it is just misnamed, but it will take a while. (isps net enforcer has gone psychotic). Bad day all around I guess.
Looks like the account was not provisioned at the time you logged in- I don't know why this occurred but it is being addressed- Let us know if you were successful with the download. As for the login ID/Password- this can be changed to what you wish by contacting customer service yes, I agree AS8D89234123AK28 rolls off the tongue rather nicely ;-)
no way! service with a sense of humor? I received a reply about the download....
"As for the links to the download, there seems to be an issue with some links. You may want to try getting access to the installation build from this link: "
This link they gave me appears to work, though my isp problems are preventing me from actually downloading the whole file within my lifetime.
I added two articles to our Knowledge Base to explain a few things regarding the two accounts and the upgrade process:
I wish I'd put these up earlier, Doug. I might have avoided compounding your ISP anguish.
