I have several custom fields and wanted to know if there was a way to prompt a user that is adding a node to input those fields during the add process?
I just don't even know where to start looking. Thx
anyone?
So after you add a node in system manager, you want something to pop up and ask the user to enter some custom properties? If I understand you correct, that's not possible, as far as I know.
Yea, something like that or, integrate check boxes into the resource list...??
Thanks
I agree, that would be a very useful feature. We have added some custom properties which define a server as critical or non critical. I would like to have the ability to check or uncheck the box when a new server is added.

This is a great idea. In my opinion it doesnt even have to be a pop up box, maybe just a scrollable window on the side or bottom of the List Resources window. This way it will be easy for people that are not as advanced with Orion to add custom properties.
When we add node management to the web console, we plan to allow users to update custom properties for the node at the same time.
? does this mean you are going to add functionality so when we add a node in NPM, we will be able to update custom properties or is this (sounds like it) a new piece of functionality to the web interface, and not being added to NPM?? What is the ETA for this?
Thanks much
I assume NPM=System Manager. We are going to add the ability to add and manage nodes from the web console. When you do so, you will be able to add custom properties to those nodes.
The strategic direction for Orion is to make administration web-based. We have no plans to add this functionality to System Manager.
works for me, thanks for the heads up. any ETA?
Thanks again!
