Before I submit a feature request, has anyone yet tried to get monitoring for Rubrik going? It's a pretty nice backup and recovery solution, and with great power comes great respon... er, need to monitor.
If it's a hybrid cloud environment with some on-prem you should be able to monitor both the cloud env and the on-prem. It's just a matter of how you want to do it. For example, you can monitor the cloud subscriptions or you can simply push the solarwinds agent to them if it's involving virtual VMs, or you can find if they have an API and poll the API. I know nothing about this thing other than marketing, so what part of what it actually does do you want to monitor?
It's a backup appliance with lots of storage, high throughput NICs, etc. I think it's probably a customized Linux appliance, but I don't know if there's any shell access to set up net-snmp or similar. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it.
There is a linux agent now, too.
I'd like to help with getting this working. 'Working on getting some NFR copies of SolarWinds prods so I can spin it up in our labs here at Rubrik. I was a SolarWinds and Rubrik customer until January (2016) when I came over, so I'm a big fan of both companies and their products. Looking forward to pointing SAM at Rubrik and seeing what we can pull.

Awesome. We've got some Rubrik deployed now, so please let me know how it works out. I'll be glad to help out if possible.
Will do!
cmgurley & bleggett were you able to get monitoring pointed at your Rubrik "briks"?
At the time of this post, I was hopeful and under the impression that SAM supported making native RESTful API calls. In practice, though, it doesn't. In our internal field engineering lab, we were able to configure some polling for cluster capacity, etc using a combination of PowerShell and Ruby. The API endpoints are readily available, but SAM can't consume them without the scripting gap.
I just got asked to "monitor" a few of these. Was hoping somebody had some pointers, or templates.
Anybody have some experience getting these configured in SolarWinds?

As a foillow up I had the Infra Engineer configure snmp and I'm able to poll the cluster nodes just like any other node for disks, interfaces, and memory.
Anybody get any more detailed monitoring configured for like job stats or other application specific details?
Ther was mention of an API in this thread, so wondering if anyone has gotten further along using that.
