good week!
I am having a similar problem where my map disappears after and then a reappears after a few minutes, leaving only the following message behind when the map is not there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cannot load Network Map from "E:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Maps\CISCOVPN.OrionMap"
I sometimes get this as well. if I do a refresh, it comes back, but need to get that resolved.
Re-run the website portion of the configuration wizard, this should help.
How many elements are & nested maps are in your Map?
Are you loading this in the main page with other node info?Mapmaker is very DB intensive. Your map may be timing out before it can pull all the data from the DB.
I suggest loading the map on a dedicated page & reducing the number of nested maps.
what do you mean by "load the map on a dedicated page"?
Also, even if the maps are nested, why would that cause the system more cycles? I would think it would be easier because all it has to load at that point is a link to a map and not an actual object with all of its data.... Does it actually load all of the submap info as well? I would think this a very bad idea/way to do it....

I suggest not putting the map on your Home Page View, since all users using this view will be adding additional load to the DB server.Create a link to your Map page on the Menu Bar, so only those that want to view the map are using it.Yes, the nested maps must also load the status of all nodes, in order to present the Green, Yellow or Red map status icon.
Have a look at these other posts for others that have had the same issue.(How much RAM does your DB server have? is it a dedicated DB server? etc.)
