who has configued tomcat metrics from nagios in solarwinds?
Need to know how to pull those metrics to monitor
Have you considered using the out-of-the-box Tomcat template?
Yes but it is not what we need. I need to get nagios monitor script for that
Any particular reason why you prefer a nagios script over something more native?
Becuase we are migrating our nagios monitors to solarwinds and there are stuff in there that needs customizing and it is not working at all. I need to know the perl scripts behind the native solarwinds so I can modify it for our purpose
SAM's Tomcat monitor polls its information natively and does not rely upon scripts to collect statistical information. The is no "script" which can be edited, altered, copied, or manipulated. The monitor itself is written in C# and exists in compiled code.
I have read some of the postings from this where people have been able to use Nagios scripts in Solarwinds. I am not sure of the specifics of what they were using the monitor for. So my questions is can you still use the Nagios script monitor? If so is there documentation that I can at least look at?
Thanks,
Daniel
Yes, SAM can run Nagios scripts natively. The following sections of the Administrators Guide describe the usage of SAM's Nagios Script Monitor in some detail.
