Is there a date for when IPv6 will be supported in Orion NPM?
Updated in Feb:
We're actively working on it now, for all of our products. You should see advances in this area in 2009.
It's on the list, but nothing I can commit to time frame wise, if you want to see what is actively being worked on see here
Thanks for the list of what you are working on. I welcome the most of the items, but frankly there is no big new feature, deserving a major release (e. g. 10.0). Hint, hint ... ;-)
Hello,
I posted this in a different portion of the forums but it might be more appropriate here:
Can you give us a date yet on when Orion will have IPv6 support? My Engineers are turning up IPv6 soon and are wanting to move my management network into it first. I have a large Orion implementation and have only just begun to look into this.
If this feature is being driven by customer demand then please put me into the "demanding" category. ;-)
Got ya down. Can you tell us more about it though. Are you moving to pure IPv6 or dual stacked?
Certainly! At first, we will be moving into a dual stack implementation. The goal is for native IPv6, though.
I have only started considering this whole deal but it looks like this will affect many things within my Orion implementation. For instance, IPv6 requires netflow v9. v5 no worky. So what does this mean for NTA? Does it already handle v9 flows?
Ugh. Lots to think about.
warbird,
Orion NTA does handle NetFlow v9 flows. For more information about required field types, see "NetFlow, IPFIX, J-Flow, and sFlow Requirements" in the SolarWinds Orion NTA Administrator Guide.
