Has anybody else noticed that after upgrading to V8.5 of Orion that the Orion web site seems to be responding slower?
Greg,
The first time you load a specific type of web page, it will be slower. After that, it will perform better. That's just a side-effect of using ASP.net.

Well to me the response time doesn't seem to improve with age. I am sorry but so far V8.5 has not been a real winner in my book so far.
If you're experiencing generally slow times, then there's something specific to your system and you should open a Support ticket. If you're having that problem, then I can see why 8.5 wouldn't seem great. Let us help you get past this problem (and any other problems) and then re-evaluate.
Since you mentioned ASP.NET how come you're moving the Orion code over to it? I know ASP.NET is supposed to be quicker but I've never noticed a significant improvement over asp.
There are a number of key features that customers have been asking for that could not be accomplished with the old code base. We needed to make changes to enable those features in future releases. ASP.Net met the requirements for achieving those goals. You'll see the payoff in 2008 as we add new web console features.
Only the initial login is slower from here. (5-15 seconds) The rest of the site actually feels snappier.
While were talking about ASP.Net, I'm assuming you kept with VB.Net??
