The link to the new features in version 9 is not working anymore. Any way to get it back? I know that the Custom MIB poller was overhauled to allow custom tables (yeah!) but I was curious at to what other goodies are coming.
Bo
can you post the link?
http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm
I'm not sure that it had all the upcoming features listed- maybe its being edited at this time???
this link works for me
www.solarwinds.com/.../releaseNotes.htm
looks like that link is only for 8.5.1 notes not 9.0
We updated some icons in Map Maker, but no big changes otherwise. We are, however, planning to focus on Map Maker in the subsequent release.
There are lots of smaller features, but the two main features are these: We have added the ability to add, delete, and modify nodes from the web console. You can now edit multiple nodes at once.
Denny,
This is great news. We have a lot of deployed nodes that go up and down all the time and it takes a lot of time to manage/unmanage them. Is there currently a way to setup Orion so if a device shows down for a specific period of time (say 3 days), the node goes into an unmanaged state? I would also like the ability for a node to be setup in such a way that even if it is unmanaged, Orion will still ping it occasionally to see if it responds and if it does, it manages it again. This "smart" system would save us so much time managing these nodes. If there is not currently a way to do this with Orion now, please accept this as a feature request.
Robert
I'll take it as a feature request.
