Best Practice to Upgrade

Question

I'm looking to upgrade Cirrus to a faster server.  At the same time, I would like to move from a MSDE backend to SQL Server 2000 running on another server.  Is there a recommended way to upgrade?  IE - Install from scratch, create the new dummy db, backup MSDE and then restore MSDE table to SQL table??   Thanks!

I've had our dba move the db to a new server for me.  I just ran the configuration wizard and it connected fine without any porblems.

The License Manager needs internet access.  You may be better opening a support ticket and asking them to reset the license.

Also wanted to know about transferring the license between the two servers: The manual states that you should use the Solarwinds LIcense manager software to do this.  This leads me to ask the question: Does this mean both servers must have internet connectivity in order to transfer the license, or is there an off-line method?
