Hi
I running SLX NPM Server.
Can I buy and use SL250 license for NTA/NCM on the same server set ??
/SJA
Got my answer its going to be expensive...
Your NPM and NTA license count must match. If you have a NPM SLX license, you must purchase the NTA SLX license.
if solarwinds read this post... can i get an understanding of this madness.. i know it complained about again and again
have you ever done the maths on this... i mean there must be a shocking amount of NPM users who want NTA but refuse to buy it due to the stupid license mechanism (i.e. must match NPM)
if you would fix this anamolly, i bet the number of extra NTA users you would get woudl far outway the amount you can fleece from the users who do buy it....
Nice to know its not only me...
I will probebly will buy NCM and the NTA ..
If it was "mix and mach"
NCM doesn't have to match NPM, just NTA and NPM. However, I'm with everyone. It really sucks having to buy the unlimited version of NTA to match NPM. I'll never get over a couple hundred netflow interfaces.
As noted in this thread, we license NTA to fit your network. The best approximation we have of your network size is the size of your Orion NPM license. A very large network can have all its data flowing through a few large interfaces, as could a very small network. So all interfaces are not equal for NTA as a technology.
If cost is a blocker, another option to consider is deploying a separate Orion SL100 instance with an NTA for an Orion SL100. If you still want a single pane of glass, you could deploy EOC centrally to roll up overall status from your Orion instances.
