I was just about to submit a request for this exact same thing. Being with a large company there are many network people that acknowledge alerts and should not. I need a way to find out who acknowledged the alert and when.

This capability has been available since the introduction of Advanced Alerts, I believe. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.) Stepping back a bit, I don't think it's possible to acknowledge basic alerts. Therefore, if you want to take advantage of this capability, you'll need to recreate your basic alerts as advanced alerts. The following is a quick rundown of the steps to acknowledge advanced alerts which is very simple.

Click Alerts in navigation menu
By default, basic alerts are show. Simply select "Advanced" from the "Select an Alert Engine" dropdown
Check the boxes of the alerts that you would like to acknowledge and hit the button at the bottom to acknowledge checked alerts
When the page refreshes, the "Acknowledged by" and "Acknowledged Time" columns are updated accordingly

I don't want to acknowledge basics alerts so yo uare correct there; however, if I have multiple network people across the country or even another continent, can I see who acknowledged an alert there? I would like to see who is acknowledging advanced alerts; who, what time and any other info that would be helpful. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, once the alert is acknowledged, the alert will indicate:

who acknowledged
whether they acknowledged from System Manager or the web console
date and time of acknowledgement

Under the advanced alerts section of the alerts page will show you all of your active alerts. Make sure your users have rights to acknowledge alerts. The name of the person who acknowledged the alert as well as the time they acknowledged the alert will be shown on the page until the alert is either reset or manually cleared. See the attached photo for details.

Is this available in V9 only? I am using V8.5 and due to some issues with SW still don't want to just upgrade and have more issues. I looked in my web console and saw the ack alerts but did not see any that had names next to them as in your screenshot.

We're on 8.5.1 SP3. You'll only see names if a user (who has rights to) acknowledges the alert either in the web console or in the Advanced Alert manager on your Orion server. If no one has acknowledged the alert, there won't be a user name or time in those columns.

To acknowledge the alert in the web console, the user needs to check the box next to the alert they want to acknowldge and then click the Acknowledge Alerts button. In the Advanced Alert manager, the user simply needs to click the check box next to the alert in the Acknowledged column.

Is this still available in 9.5? I cannot seem to find this view anywhere.
