what's the meaning of new status about interface in NPM 10.1

I find out there are a lot of new status of interface in NPM 10.1 occasional.

Like the following ones. Does anybody know what kind of status those status represent?

Testing

Dormant

NotPresent

LowerLayerDown

Unmanaged

Unplugged

External

Unreachable

unreachable is if a node that you defined as parent is down, therefore the child is considered unreachable and not down (to suppress multiple alerts).

this also applies to some automatic parent/child connections, like when a node is down, the applications are unreachable.

I would still like to know what Dormant, Testing, etc. all mean... if I filter for it in views it seems just like a mess, most of these tags dont filter for what they say they filter for

Many of these states are explained in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide. A list of states listed from worst to "best" is also provided in the section, "Status Icons and Identifiers > Status Indicators" of the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.

The main ones with which you might be concerned are as follows:

Unmanaged objects are known, but not actively monitored. You can designate objects as unmanaged in Node Management in the Orion Web Console.
Unplugged interfaces are generally associated with devices that regularly go off and on normally, like laptop ports. The unplugged status lightens the monitoring load by indicating that up/down events on those interfaces may essentially be ignored.
External is a state provided for users with Orion Application Performance Monitor. It is intended to designate nodes that host applications you may want to monitor, though you might not care about the performance of the node itself.
Unreachable is a status assigned to objects that are known and were monitored at one time, but are not responding to polls due to a down object between the object and the Orion server.

We do not actively use dormant or testing for NPM

I am also running NPM 10.1 and have an interface with "operational status" of Testing. The router reflect this interface as Up/Up. I understand that Solar Winds answer is that "We do not actively use dormant or testing for NPM" but for some reason this is the status that Solar Winds reflects for this interface.

Can someone explain why this is occurring?
