Orion Alerts to SMS

hi,

Just looking for information on the different systems that people are using to send sms alerts out of orion, i have looked in to NotePager Pro but wonder if people were using anything else ?

If you log into your network monitors, then click Settings in the upper right

Then click Configure Default Send E-Mail Action

All you need to do then is enter the phone numbers you want to SMS followed by the carrier codes (@vtext.com or @txt.att.net)

We also send the alerts to our Web Help Desk (WHD) E-Mail address which (through rules) assigns a tech, level, and priority.

Finally, just apply the Configure Default Send E-Mail Action as a trigger and you're done!

We do it directly through the web interface on the network monitors. When we setup the alerts, there is a tab for Trigger Actions where we send text messages.

I'll be glad to show you how we do it if you would like.

Coincidentally, I just went through this process this morning. If I would have been up to date on my Thwack reading, would have saved me some research.

I found that there was quite alot of conflicting info out there so having the information from above really points you in the right direction and in this case removing the need for an additional app
